Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) is due to a collection of problems which together mean that the left side of the heart is too small to pump enough blood to the body. The Fontan Procedure is the 3rd stage operation for this condition. More information can be found here.
The Australian and New Zealand Fontan Registry is a database collecting health information on children and adults living in Australia and New Zealand who have had a Fontan procedure. This registry is one of the largest of its kind, and it will become a unique tool to help researchers and doctors improve the health of Fontan patients. More information can be found here.
